TERMS & CONDITIONS
By booking a service with Cornwall PPF or Classic Modern Retro, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of services by Cornwall PPF (“we”, “our”, “us”) to the customer (“you”, “your”).
By booking a service with Cornwall PPF, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Quotations
All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
Quotations are based upon the vehicle condition as presented at the time of inspection. Additional charges may apply if the vehicle requires unforeseen preparation work, paint correction, contamination removal, or repairs prior to installation.
Any additional work required will be discussed and approved before proceeding.
Deposits and Payments
A deposit will be required to secure your booking.
Deposits are non-refundable if cancellation occurs within 7 days of the scheduled appointment.
Full payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Cornwall PPF reserves the right to retain possession of the vehicle until payment has been received in full.
Vehicle Condition
Vehicle Condition, Paintwork and Assumption of Risk
The customer must disclose, before work begins, all known paint defects, previous repairs, resprayed or refinished panels, smart repairs, accident damage, corrosion, aftermarket bodywork and any other relevant vehicle history.
The installation or removal of Paint Protection Film (“PPF”) requires the film to adhere to the vehicle’s painted surfaces. Although Cornwall PPF will visually inspect the vehicle and exercise reasonable care and skill, a visual inspection cannot identify every hidden or underlying paint defect.
Paint, lacquer or clear coat may lift, peel, crack, flake or separate during installation, adjustment or removal of PPF where the surface has poor adhesion, inadequate preparation, a previous repair or respray, contamination, deterioration, corrosion, an existing defect or another underlying weakness.
Where such paint failure occurs despite Cornwall PPF exercising reasonable care and skill, it will not constitute defective workmanship or a breach of contract. The customer accepts responsibility for the condition and integrity of the vehicle’s paintwork and assumes the risk of damage arising from any pre-existing, underlying or previously undisclosed defect. The customer will be responsible for the cost of any necessary paintwork, refinishing or other repairs.
This applies whether or not the defect was known to the customer before work began, provided that Cornwall PPF did not cause the damage by failing to exercise reasonable care and skill.
If Cornwall PPF identifies a concern before or during the work, we may stop work and notify the customer. We will discuss whether the work should continue and whether any additional preparation or repairs are required.
Payment Where Vehicle or Paintwork Issues Arise
Where Cornwall PPF has completed the agreed services with reasonable care and skill, the full agreed price remains payable even if a pre-existing, hidden or underlying vehicle or paintwork defect becomes apparent during or following the work.
Paint failure, lifting or damage caused by a pre-existing or underlying defect does not entitle the customer to refuse, withhold or reduce payment for properly completed services.
If work cannot be completed because of defective paintwork, an undisclosed previous repair or another issue with the vehicle that is not caused by Cornwall PPF, the customer must pay for:
all work reasonably carried out up to that point;
all film and other materials used, cut, ordered or committed to the job and which cannot reasonably be reused; and
any additional work expressly approved by the customer.
If the customer instructs Cornwall PPF to continue after being informed of a paintwork risk or defect, the customer accepts the identified risk and remains responsible for the agreed charges and any resulting paintwork repairs.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts Cornwall PPF’s obligation to perform its services with reasonable care and skill, or any other customer rights which cannot legally be excluded.
